Preview

Hearts striker Craig Beattie will miss Tuesday's match after suffering a hamstring strain during Saturday's 2-2 draw at Dundee United.

Midfielder Ian Black continues to nurse a hernia problem that will require surgery, while Jamie Hamill and Adrian Mrowiec are out with knee injuries.

Motherwell manager Stuart McCall has no new selection worries.

The visitors are not likely to make many changes from the side that beat St Johnstone 5-1 at the weekend.

Hearts first team coach Gary Locke: "We've got two big games coming up [St Johnstone at the weekend] and if we want to finish high up the league I think we'll need to win them.

"We've got Celtic the last day which will be another difficult game with them getting the trophy that day."

Motherwell defender Tim Clancy: "We've had a very good season and find ourselves sitting in third. If we can get a positive result against Hearts it will hopefully help us finish third.

"We have worked really hard all season and spent most of the season in third.

"We dropped out a few months back when we had two games in hand and we won in midweek against Dunfermline to get ourselves back in there.

"We are very determined, we want to get as many wins as we can."
